She Wore a Raspberry Beret
"She Wore A Raspberry Beret" Played over and over in my studio while I stitched this hat in the Autumn weather. I had an image of a girl wrapped up from the cold and drinking coffee outside, people watching in the Irish weather or even in Paris. This is light weight and made from a luscious red felt and lined in red satin. It is embellished with gold leaves and highlighted with a little sparkle of red and green crystal. Its gold chains which move add a sense of drama and fun, glistening in the light.
The Red Beret Beret is 7.5 inches in diameter and has an all day soft hat elastic to secure it in place for the wearer. I loved creating this piece as feel its fun and boldness all rolled into one.
Everything on this piece is hand sewn as is all my work and if a bead should ever become loose I will repair it free of charge. This entire creation is made using sustainable materials a lot of which is repurposed.
This piece comes wrapped in its own keepsake box.
